Mere Substance Use Rehabilitation Center, located in Alva, Oklahoma, is designed to support individuals in their recovery journey by harnessing the restorative qualities of its natural surroundings. The project aims to create a healing environment that fosters physical and emotional well-being while addressing the challenges of creating a universally accessible, therapeutic space.
To address these needs, the design integrates the flowing forms of rivers, using organic lines to mimic water’s natural curves. This approach guides movement throughout the building, creating a rhythmic, calming atmosphere conducive to healing. A tranquil color palette, textures inspired by river stones, and the maximization of natural light connect the space to nature, enhancing sensory comfort. The layout is carefully balanced to ensure accessibility and support for all users, promoting a nurturing and supportive space for recovery.
