Our design for the University of Central Oklahoma's Art and Design Building captures the captivating dynamics of The School of Fish. This embodies themes of unity, collaboration, movement, and interconnectedness. Drawing inspiration from the graceful motions of fish in their natural habitat, the design features flowing lines and curves that create a sense of fluidity, facilitating collaboration and providing a comfortable working environment for both professors and students. Inspired by the luminous depths of the ocean, the building emphasizes the infusion of natural light and incorporates the colors of the ocean and fish throughout its interior spaces, fostering a deep connection to nature and enhancing the overall sense of well-being and productivity. By embracing biophilic design principles, we aim to create an environment that not only stimulates the senses but also promotes a harmonious relationship between occupants and their surroundings. This design integrates numerous sustainable features inspired by the adaptive resilience of marine ecosystems. From energy-efficient lighting to the strategic use of passive design strategies, each element is meticulously calibrated to minimize ecological impact while enhancing occupant comfort and well-being. Through the seamless integration of form and function, our design for the University of Central Oklahoma's Art and Design Building seeks to create an immersive and inspiring environment that celebrates the beauty and complexity of nature while fostering creativity, innovation, and collaboration among students, faculty, and visitors alike.
